‘Siringit Serengeti Camp’ is the latest addition to the collection of luxury camps to be found in the Serengeti National Park.
It is the product of an already proven collaboration between ‘Intimate Places,’ a long-established hotel management company operating all over the Northern Safari circuit of Tanzania; ‘Meg Vaun Interiors’ of South Africa and Miguel Van Hoof, proprietor of the beautiful ‘Siringit Villa’ located on the Kilimanjaro Golf & Wildlife Estate on the outskirts of Arusha.
Encouraged by the enormous popularity of ‘Siringit Villa', these three partners decided to join forces once again to create a gorgeous new camp in the heart of the Serengeti Nation Park.
A well-proportioned, comfortably furnished lounge tent with covered verandah enjoying stunning views over the Serengeti plains will occupy pride of place at the centre of the camp. Here, guests will be able to enjoy periods of complete rest and relation before and after exciting game drives.
Pre-dinner cocktails and aperitifs as well as after dinner digestifs will be served from the tents generously stocked bar on an all-inclusive basis. Guests wishing to spoil themselves with premium wines and spirits may do so from a list especially created for them by the camp’s management.
Wireless internet, reading books and board games will also be available for guests use without extra charge.
At Intimate Places, we believe it essential that the standard of the food served to our guests reflects the high standards of the camp itself. For this reason, we have contracted the services of ‘Axel Janssens Signature Catering’ to provide the meals served to our guests during the course of their stay in camp.
Axel Janssens is generally considered to be one of the top chef’s in Tanzania. His creative menus, which consist of mainly European dishes with a dash of African flair, are prepared in the camps modern kitchen by a team of chefs who have been especially trained by him. This training is an ongoing process and Axel himself will often be found in the camp making certain that everything produced in the kitchen will exactly the way he would wish it.
As with Siringit Villa, “wine pairing” at dinner where Axel chooses the wines which he feels best compliments the different courses offered will be an option available to our guests.
With well over a decade of experience operating camps in the different national parks which make up the Northern Safari circuit, Intimate places has developed very strict policies and procedures with regards to the protection of the fragile environments in which we operate. These policies and procedures will also be employed at Siringit Serengeti Camp.
All the camps power requirements will be generated through a state of the art solar power system which has been sourced from and installed by Pepijn Steemers of ‘Greenlink’, one of Tanzania’s leading solar technology companies. A standby ‘super-silent’ generator will be on hand for use only when required.
All guest tents, including the lounge and dining tents, will be raised on timber platforms to prevent ‘grass burn’ and to protect the natural habitat of the different smaller species of wildlife who inhabit the site.
The ‘Teak’ timber used to construct these platforms has been sourced from the ‘Kilombero Valley Teak company’ who farm the wood thereby making its use entirely sustainable.
The garbage produced by the camp will be burned in especially designed and constructed incinerators with plastics, tins and glass, etc. all being transported back to Arusha for proper disposal at municipal facilities.
At Intimate Places, we passionately believe that the growth of our company and the creation of all of our new facilities should, wherever possible, impact positively on the development of the economy of Tanzania where we reside and operate. Consequently all of the materials and labour used to construct our camp have been locally sourced. This include all tents, platforms and all of the furniture, fittings and equipment used in the camps service areas.
In order to meet the requirements of the most discerning of guests however, the majority of the furnishings, fittings and equipment used in the camp’s guest areas have been sourced overseas so that the best quality materials are assured.
